Heinrich Botz born of Martin Botz and Maria Anna Mueller Katholisch, Ettenheim,Freiberg, Baden. Reportedly jumped furlough from Baden Army to America. Mustered in 1st Ohio infantry co H at Camp Washington May 10,1846 fought in Mexico, mustered out June 12, 1847 in New Orleans- had to make own way back to Cincinnati; Married Elizabeth Chera (Gerard), of Alsace Loraine, June 19, 1848 in Hamilton County, Ohio where certificae is on file in Archives; E.C. Roll, Clerk, Common Pleas; J.M. McMasters, Deputy; moved to Webertown, Clark County, Ohio (later changed to Highland County); visited brother Freiderick Botz, in Brown County once, when he was looking for seed. Chilren: John Botts,Mary J. Botts, Charles N.Botts, Kate Botts, Fred Botts, Elizabeth Botts Sinclair. Inlaws: Michael (dec'd 1873) and Catherine (dec'd 1872) Jarrard (Gerard). Wife, Elizabeth (1819-1899) and her parents and two known sisters (married to Klock's), are buried in St Martins Cemetery, and brother Nicklaus Gerard, also. Elizabeth's stone reads Elizabeth, wife of Henry Botts.

There is no cemetery record at Harwood of the old section, as stated by twp trustees who care for it.
