Ethel Botkin Streeter, 91, formerly of 523 E. Washington St., died Tuesday afternoon at Woodland Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was the widow of Roland C. Streeter.
A native of Farmland, Mrs. Streeter was a graduate of Portland High School and later attended Eastern Indiana Institute, now Ball State University. She was a direct descendant of Oliver Cromwell and Jebediah Andrews, one of the founders of the Presbyterian Church in the United States.
She taught school in Portland for a brief time before her marriage. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Flower Mission, and was the last surviving member of the Research Club. Mrs. Streeter was also a member of the Daughters of American Colonists in Portland.
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Virginia Clayton, Winchester, and Mrs. Mary Frances Strebe, Palm Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dr. Laurence A. Martin, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services at Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and prior to services.
