Dr. V.V. Botkin, 82, 330 1/2 E. Jackson, a practicing veterinarian in Muncie for 57 years, died at Crystal's Country Home in Perry Township Friday morning. Dr. Botkin had been in failing health for the past 10 years.
Dr. Botkin was born in Randolph county five miles south of Farmland. Following graduation from the Ontario Veterinarian College of Toronto, Canada in 1905, Dr. Botkin began his practice in Muncie in partnership with his late brother, Dr. F.L. Botkin. This partnership continued until his brother's retirement in 1926. Since 1912 Dr. Botkin had had his office at 330 E. Jackson.
Dr. Botkin was a trap shooting enthusiast. In 1934 he won the Indiana trap shooting championship.
Surviving are his wife, Maudie; two nieces, Mrs. Hattie Cox, Winchester, and Mrs. Pauline Rossel, Columbus, O., and two nephews, Paul Pegg, Indianapolis, and Eugene Botkin, RR 1, Selma.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Meeks Mortuary.
