Funeral services were held at the Briar Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 30, at 10 o'clock for Mrs. Luther Boteler, 75, who died on Monday, March 28. Dr. R. B. Gunter officiated, assisted by the Rev. Charlie Thompson of Ellisville and Dr. W.A. Hewitt of Jackson.
A lifelong resident of Rankin County, she was an active member of the Briar Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Boteler was the former Amanda Williams. Survivors are her husband, Luther Boteler of Florence; two sons, Carl Boteler of Biloxi, and William Boteler of Hattiesburg; four daughters, Mrs. Bob Wilcox, Hattiesburg, Miss Celeste Boteler of Sanatorium, Mrs. Elleene Jones of Florence and MRs. Robert Weathersby, Florence; three grand-daughters and one grandson; one brother, P.F. Williams of Clarksdale; two sisters, Mrs. H.H. Bullock of Brandon and Mrs. Oscar Boteler of Florence.
Interment was made in the Briar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ernest, Bernard and Herman Boteler, Prentiss Taylor, Harvey H. Bullock and Joe Webb.
