Thelma Mary Vance, age 87, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Swords Creek, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Stallard and Alafair Dye Bostic.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a former LPN of Mattie Williams and the Clinch Valley Clinic. She attended the Lake Park Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clide Vance; two sisters, Mabel Reedy and Bee Jackson; and four brothers, Albert, Thurman, Herman, and Hurl Bostic.

Her Daughter: Sharee Bowman and husband, Tommy of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
Special Grandson: Christopher Hale of Richlands, Virginia
Three Sisters:
Alma Gaye Byrd of Raven, Virginia
Betty Salyers of Raven, Virginia
Myrtle Hess of Richlands, Virginia
Two Brothers:
Earl Bostic of Richlands, Virginia
Arnold Bostic of Swords Creek, Virginia
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Thelma Vance will be conducted Friday, September 14, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Johnny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Hamric, Gary Hess, Jimmy Vance, and Ronnie Keith Hess. Honorary pallbearer will be Amos Phillips. Friends may from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
