Mrs Borland was born August 9, 1863 in the town of Orleans, daughter of Henry and Christina Kirchner Merchant. She was married to Dwight M Borland on Carlton Island on February 27, 1882. her husband passed away October 22, 1934. She is survived by a son Karl H Borland, two brothers, Francis P and George W Merchant, a sister Miss Mary E Merchant, a granddaughter Mrs David Blodgett, three great-grand children and several nieces and nephews.
