Funeral services for Howard Boriack, 76 of Lincoln, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Boriack family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Howard passed away peacefully into the loving arms of His Lord and Savior on Friday evening, July 15, 2011 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale, Texas.

Howard John Boriack was born on February 24, 1935 to Charles and Ida (Umlang) Boriack at Lincoln, Texas. He was baptized on March 3, 1935 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln by Rev. A. Osthoff and confirmed there on April 10, 1949 by Rev. H.A. Stroebel. He married Frieda Schneider on November 21, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor, Texas. They first lived at Lincoln where he helped on the family farm. In 1958, the family moved to Austin where Howard worked for Superior Dairies and Snap-On Tools; then in 1963 returned to Lincoln to do dirt work. The business grew to a climax during the 1970's oil boom and included contract dirt work around the state. He was a director of Conservation Contractors of Texas for many years. Howard was a faithful church member and served in various positions in the congregation of St. John Lutheran Church of Lincoln. His last years were spent at home in the loving care of his wife, Frieda.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Martin & Herbert; son-in-law, Kenneth Keith Jr.; sisters-in-law, Edna Boriack, Betty Boes and Eleanor Friedrich; brothers-in-law, Fred Foerster, Charles Kelly, Martin Melcher, Fred Melcher, Fred Handrick, Melvin Boes, Eldor Umlang and Edgar Friedrich and nephews, Lloyd Kelly, Gary Handrick and Brendon Proske.

He is survived by Frieda, his loving wife of 56 years, of Lincoln; two sons and four daughters, Deborah & Michael Beisert, James & Terry Boriack, Jarvis & Roberta Boriack, Yvonne & Herb Mitschke, Laverne Wright & Richard Floeck and Rachel & Darrell Enderlin all of the Lincoln/Giddings area; eighteen grandchildren, Michael & Lois Beisert of Brenham, Cody & Katrina Beisert of Giddings, Abigail & Colton Coates of Giddings, Crystal & Brad Hill of Dallas, Tommy & Amy Boriack of Dallas, Caroline Boriack of Verona, Wisconsin, Meagan & Derrick Dean of Dallas, Jared Boriack of Lincoln, Jessica & Chris Mueller of Paige, Amy & Jonathan Meurin of Giddings, Casi Mitschke of Houston, Kurt Mitschke of Lincoln, Marcy & John Heine of Lexington, Tammie & Alan Creek of Dime Box, Mason Wright of Giddings and Dustin Keith, Whitney Keith and Bo Enderlin all of Lincoln; sixteen great grandchildren, Grace, Hannah & Noah Beisert of Brenham, Kaylene, Kassidy, Cody & Clay Beisert of Giddings, Korbyn Coates of Giddings, Braelyn Hill of Dallas, Tyler Robertson & Kyndal Meurin of Giddings, Blaine Mueller of Paige, McKynzie & Kayden Heine of Lexington and Madison & Rilynn Creek of Dime Box; brother, Richard & Evelyn Boriack of Lincoln; two sisters, Lorine & Lawrence Proske of Lincoln and Jeanette & Rudy Knippa of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Irene (Boriack) & Albert Schneider of Giddings, Meta Melcher of Houston, Lorine Melcher of Temple, Elsie Handrick of Georgetown and Delories & Donnie Shannon of Dallas; brother-in-law, Williebald Schneider of Fedor as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Beisert, Cody Beisert, Tommy Boriack, Dustin Keith, Jared Boriack, Kurt Mitschke, Mason Wright and Bo Enderlin.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas or to the charity of one's choice.

The family would like to express thanks to Pastor Dale Bohm for his many visits, the nurses of Standard Home Health, the staff of B & M Ambulance, the very caring staff of Richard's Memorial Hospital in Rockdale where he spent his last two weeks, the visiting staff of VistaCare Hospice who provided care and comfort in his final week and the many caregivers Howard has had in the past several years.

The family is also grateful for the many, many prayers, support and well wishes of so many friends and family.
