Mrs. Alice Borden, widow of Richard Borden, died of bronchitis on Saturday at her residence on Front street, Red Bank. Mrs. Borden was nearly 75 years of age, having been born just outside of Red Bank on April 15, 1815. Mrs. Borden was a member of the Presbyterian church. She was possessed of a moderate comtetency and had lived a retired life for a great many years. Her children are William W. and Richard F., of Red Bank, and Sarah E., wife of George W. Vanderveer, of Jersey City. The wife of James Cooper is a granddaughter of Mrs. Borden.
The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from her late residence, the Rev. F. R. Harbaugh officiating. The interment was made at Fairview. The pall bearers were Capt. James S. Throckmorton, Tylee W. Throckmorton, James H. Hendrickson, John A. Worthley, Wm. J. Sickles and Wm. S. Smock.
