There were two separate notices for Julia's death in Lineville newspapers. It is interesting to note that the caption for the second obituary used her maiden name, although she was never Julia Booth when residing in Missouri.

"DEATH OF MRS. JULIA A. BARBER

Mrs. Julia A. Barber, wife of the late Hiram Barber, and mother of Mrs. Ewell (sic) Williams, died at the home of the latter, 2 1/2 miles southwest of Lineville on last Saturday at the age of about 87 years, after an illness of several weeks. She was a woman of more than ordinary education and literary culture and besides receiving a liberal school education, she spent a number of years of her early womanhood as a stenographer in the offices of her father who was a prominent and successful lawyer in Michigan City, Mich., where she was born and reared. Since the death of her husband several years ago, she has lived at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Williams, and was the object of the tenderest solicitude and care by the family. Her death is deeply mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and was attended by a large number and the intement was at the McKinney graveyard in the neighborhood by the side of her husband. "OBITUARY OF JULIA ANN BOOTH

Julia Ann Booth was born in York State (sic), Sept. 2, 1829 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Yuell (sic) Williams near Lineville, Ia., Sept. 22, 1916, being 87 years 20 days of age. She moved from York State (sic) to Michigan when four years of age, was married to Luther Peters August 24, 1848. To this union two children were born, Loren and Grace, both deceased. Mr. Peters died May 25, 1852. She was again married to Hiram Barber in 1855, who died 1896. Three children were born to them, one dying in infancy, two living, who are Mary Williams and Richard Barber. She moved from Michigan to Mercer County in 1865. She leaves besides her two children, two step-children Adelbert and Arvilla Barber, one brother, Lyman Booth of Seattle, Wash., 20 grandchildren, 38 great grand children and 1 great great grandchild and a host of friends to mourn her death.

She was a good Christian woman of more than ordinary statements and was beloved by all who knew her.

Dearest mother thou hast left us;

And thy loss we deeply feel

But 'twas God who has bereft us,

He can all our sorrows heal.

The family wish to thank all their kind friends and neighbors for their kindness and help during the sickness, death and burial of their dear mother."
