Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Abilene, Texas, for Bessie Almira Lee, 99, of Caprock.

Bessie was born Aug. 11, 1901, in Houston to James and Addie Booth. She lived in Abilene for many years before moving to Caprock in October of 2000. Bessie loved to crochet, specialized in clothes hanger covers and anyone who came visiting left with at least one hanger cover. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Abilene.
She is survived by a daughter-in law, Ada Lee Kolb of Caprock; a brother, Spencer Booth, of Seagoville, Texas; three granddaughters, Sandi Lee of Abilene, Janice Martin of San Diego and Donna Hoover of Bay City, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and a number of near relatives.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar Lee; a daughter, Gwendoline Hoover; and a son, James Theodore Lee.

Services were under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory.
