Henry W. Boose
Henry W. Boose, 92, of Seven Valleys RD 2, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Boose had been employed as a welder at the former Reads Standard Machine Co., York, for more than 30 years, retiring in 1966.
He was a member of the Zion (Shaffer's) United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys RD 1, where he served on several committees and held several church offices. He had also taught the Young Men's class of the Sunday school for many years.
He was a 40-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, an 18-year member of the Western York County Democratic Club, and was an avid bowler for many years, having bowled in several leagues at the Springfield Bowling Center and the Lincolnway Bowling Center.
Born in Springfield Township on Oct. 2, 1901, he was a son of the late Henry W. and Maria (Bailey) Boose.
He leaves his wife, Jennie V. (Kessler) Boose, to whom he was married for 61 years; a son, Larry E. Boose, Spring Grove; a daughter, Dawn E. Boose, Baltimore; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Edna Jones of Colonial Manor, York.
Viewing is from 10-11 a.m. tomorrow at Zion (Shaffer's) United Lutheran Church, Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys RD 1. The service is at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the church with the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements.
