The custom homebuilder died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 in Granbury. He was born in Brenham Dec. 7, 1928 to Otto and Minnie Boortz. He married Mary L. Bowman, Sept. 17, 1978 in Fort Worth.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he lived in Fort Worth before moving to Granbury in 1972.
His parents, a son, Robert Carroll; brothers, Otto and Lawrence Boortz; and a sister, Gladys Kirkmeyer, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Boortz of Granbury; sons, Christopher Boortz of Granbury, Rodney Boortz of Fort Worth; daughters, Sharon Hindman and Dee Langwell, both of Granbury, Darla Martinets of Taylor; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd, Leroy and Harry Boortz, all of Fort Worth.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
