Alva Boop, 58, Rt. 6, died at his residence at 4 a.m. yesterday following a two-year illness.

Born in Lima, Sept. 7, 1900, he was a retired core maker of the Ohio Steel Foundry.

Mr. Boop was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.

He married Hazel Howell on Jan. 8, 1921. She died June 20, 1957.

Survivors include four sons, Albert, Cleveland, Harold, Rt. 1, Elida, Virgil, 1713 Lennox, and Jack, Rose Avenue; six daughters, Mrs. June Sinor, South Dixie Highway, Mrs. Phillis Hawkins, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Margaret Marlatt, Mrs. Lavina Gaines, Mrs. Elsie Burden and Miss Mildred Boop, all of Rt. 6; 24 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Allie Parlette, 911 E. Market, Mrs. Esther Sibert, 1800 Garland, and Mrs. Belle Gardner, 119 S. Scott; and one brother, Melvin of Rt. 6, Wapakoneta.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, with Rev. George G. Long officiating.

Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
