Henry C. Boone, 73 of 1034 W. Tuttle street died at 10:50 Pm Friday in the Decatur and Macon county hospital where he had been a patient since June 6, 1932. His death is attributed to in injuries sustained on that date. He was for more than twenty years in the employment by the city most of that time being in the electrical department. The injury that finally resulted in his death was received while he was assisting in the laying of a light cable through the S. Main street subway. A heavy rope that was used in stretching the cable broke and struck him in the back fracturing his spine and otherwise injuring him. He has been in the hospital ever since.
Mr. Boone was born in Cambridge City, Ind, March 20, 1861. The family moved to Decatur when he was a boy. He and Susan E. Oglesby were married in Macon, Oct 30, 1891. He entered
the employment of the city shortly after his marriage and retained his position until the last injury.
He leaves his wife and one child, Erma Lynde Boone and two grandchildren, Edwin and Evelyn Boone. He also leaves a brother Elwood Boone and two nephews, Frank and Charles Boone all of Decatur. A son Alva Boone and a sister Mrs. Eveline Johnson preceded him in death.
The body was taken to the Moran & Sons funeral home. Friends may call at the home after 5 pm Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 3 Pm Monday at the residence.
