SUMMONED BY DEATH
MRS. AMELIA M. FEY
Mrs. Amelia M. Fey was born Aug. 20, 1878 about three miles west of Naperville and died at the St. Charles hospital, Aurora, Nov. 21, 1927, after an illness of over seven weeks. She was the fifth of seven children born to John and Sophia Book.
On Christmas eve 1907 she united in marriage to Mr. Clinton H. Fey of Naperville. The worked the Fey farm north of Naperville for twelve years, and then on account of Mr. Fey's illness quit farming and moved to town in 1919 to live with Mrs. Fey's mother Mrs. Book. After about two and one-half years of intermittent illness Mr. Fey died on Nov. 23, 1921 and was laid to rest Nov. 25. Just six years to the day have passed and now she will be laid to rest beside his grave. Others of her family who preceded her in death are her father in 1908, one sister, Emma in 1911 and about ten weeks ago her mother passed on.
Those surviving are four brothers Levi Book of Hawkeye, Ia., Henry and John J. Book of Naperville, Edward Book, and one sister Mrs. Clara Wendling, both of Harvard, Ill., with many other relatives and friends who mourn with the family.
Mrs. Fey was a devoted Christian and a very active worker in the W. M. S. and the Ladies Aid, and as superintendent of the Cradle Roll, in which she took great pleasure. For about three and one-half years she was a devoted and belovedd teacher in the Primary Dept. of the Grace church Sunday School.
She possessed the happy faculty of looking on the bright side of difficulties and bore her many suffering with much fortitude, and like her mother, had the gift of wholesome wit and humor.
