Samantha Jane, daughter of John and Elizabeth Anderson, was born near Birmingham in Van Buren county, Iowa, July 22, 1855 and died at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jameson, with whom she made her home, Jan. 30, 1948, aged 92 years, 6 months, 8 days.
She was married to Israel M. Bonnett, Sept. 21, 1876 and to them were born seven children, all of whom are living and were able to attend her funeral, with the exception of one son, Lewis N. of Gresham, Oregon, who could not on account of distance. The children are Mrs. Effie Fickel, Fairfield, Iowa; Lewis N., Gresham, Oregon; Edgar J., Richland, Iowa; Ira F., Algona, Iowa; Ray L. Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Kruse, Audubon, Iowa; Mrs. Velma Jameson, Birmingham.
Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1926. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
She was the last one of a large family of brothers and sisters and was a charter member of the Free Methodist church of Birmingham, and attended as long as she was able.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Birmingham Monday afternoon, Feb. 2, 19o48, at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Bruce Myers and Rev. J. R. Crandall. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham.
