Margaret Burleson Bonner, daughter of John Oliver Bonner and Fannie Hail, was born at Bonnerville, Freestone Co., Texas on 17 December 1902. For most of her young life, she and her mother lived in Wortham and her father lived at Bonnerville. After finishing Wortham schools, Margaret attended North Texas State University. On 17 December 1921, she married Charles Randolph Best. They made their home in Mexia and were members of the Methodist Church. Margaret took her parents into her home and cared for them in their final days. She died in Mexia on 10 August 1982. Margaret and C. R. had three children: Randolph Bonner; Jim Karner; Billie Sue.
