Margaret M. Parent, age 95 of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Cypress Glenn East in Port Arthur, Texas.

She was born on March 24, 1918 in Jeanerette, Louisiana to William and Euphemie Broussard Bonin.

Margaret was a resident of the Port Arthur/ Groves area for over 70 years. Margaret was a graduate of Jeanerette High School and continued her education to obtain a LVN license where she worked at Mid-Jefferson Hospital. During WWII she was employed at Standard Brass as a key punch operator for 5 years and she was director of Religious Education (DRE) at St. James Catholic Church at which time Margaret earned a Master of Theology degree and the Bishop's Medal from the Catholic Diocese of Beaumont.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and husband Fred Parent.

She is survived by her son, Fred and his wife Kathy Parent; daughters, Patricia Creed and Susan and her husband Mike Felix; brother, Col. Louis Bonin (Ret.); sister, Evelyn Duhon; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas.
