Charles Henry Bondurant Sr.
Charles Henry Bondurant Sr., 91, 3064 Forest Hills Circle, Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005. For 64 years, he was the husband of the late Virginia Mayberry Bondurant.
Born Aug. 23, 1913, in Bedford County, he was the son of the late William Henry Bondurant and the late Blanche Arthur Bondurant.
Mr. Bondurant was a member of Forest Road United Methodist Church and had retired, after 40 years of employment as superintendent, from F.L. Showalter and Co.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kelly Bondurant and Curtis V. Brooks Jr.; four brothers, Eldridge, Clyde, Ernest and Richard Bondurant; and by two sisters, Nellie Bondurant and Myrtle Bobbitt.
He is survived by two sons, Charles H. Bondurant Jr., and wife, Mary, and David A. Bondurant and wife, Betty, both of Lynchburg; three daughters, Eleanor B. Carwile and husband, Claude, and Carole B. George, both of Lynchburg, and Marjorie B. Brooks and husband, Curtis, of Forest; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John E. Bondurant of Lynchburg; and one sister, Katie B. Seamster of Lynchburg.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Ken Tesch. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
