Charles "Chuck" Bond, 60, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Cynthia "Cindy" (St. Martin) Bond, died Saturday (August 12, 2000) at his home.

Born in Hartford, he lived for many years in Bloomfield, moving to Windsor Locks in 1983.

Chuck worked for the Metropolitan District Commission, retiring as a supervisor after thirty-seven years of outstanding service; as well he worked many years for Halprin Towing in Hartford.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Windsor Locks, and a lifelong member of the C.A.R.B.S. Hot Rod Club in Hartford, and a member of the NHRA. He was Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts Troop #208 in Bloomfield; he was a member of the Police Athletic League Color Guard of Waterbury; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Bloomfield.

Chuck will be remembered and missed by many lifelong friends, but most of all his loving family.

Along with his wife, Cindy, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bobby" and Kathie-Jo Bond of West Suffield; his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha "Marfi" and Terry Hayes of Millinocket, ME; four grandchildren, Zachery, Jakob, and Maggie Mae Hayes, all of Millinocket, ME, and Erin Nicole Bond of West Suffield; his beloved companions, Chelsey, Willie, Maggie-Mae, and Dusty; his mother-in-law, Stella Perotti of Bloomfield; his sister-in-law, Frances "Franny" St. Martin of Green Acres, FL; his brother-in-law, Robert Cormier of Colchester; several nieces and cousins; and many very loving friends.

Relatives and friends may gather on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Avenue, Poquonock section of Windsor, and 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Windsor Locks.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
