Frederick H. Bond Dies
Lifelong Resident of Winsted Was 74 Years of Age
Frederick H. Bond, 74 years old, a well known and life-long resident of Winsted, died, at 12:30 this morning at his home on Lake Street after having been in failing health for about two years.
He was born June 9, 1859, the son of Sylvester V. and Sarah (Avery) Bond in what was known as the Batchallor house located years ago near the present Methodist Church.
Mr. Bond is survived by three brothers, Charles of North Adams, Mass., Wilbur of Albany, New York, and George Bond of this city. Several nieces and nephews, among them Elliott Bond of this city survive.
Mr. Bond was employed at the Winsted Edge Tool Co., plant in the packing room for 42 years. Previous to that he worked for Mrs. Thomas Cook and the Old Blackman & Eager Meat Market on Main Street. He was a member of Union Hose Co. 1 for 35 years.
Mr. Bond lived in the house at 108 Lake Street for 64 years. He never married.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the Jone Memorial Home at 2 p.m. The body will be place in the vault at Forest View Cemetery for burial there in the spring. The funeral home will be open this evening for the convenience of friends and relatives.
