Earl E. Bond, 72, a retired farmer, died yesterday in his Kempton residence. Born in Greenwich Township, a son of the late Alfred and Ellen (Levan) Bond, he had been employed last as a butcher at the former Hamburg Tuberculosis Sanatorium.

Bond was a member of the Lutheran congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton R.D. 2, and sang in the church choir for more than 50 years. He was affiliated with the United Lutheran Church Men of the Grimville Parish. Former treasurer of both the New Bethel Cemetery Assn. and the Goodwill Fire Co., here, Bond was a member of Goodwill's relief unit and the Community Fire Co., Lynnport, and its beneficial association.

Surviving are his widow, Irene E. (Bailey) Bond; three daughters: Elda, wife of Ira Schroeder, here; Miriam, wife of Roy Henry, Kempton R.D. 2; and Dorothy, wife of Franklin Moyer, Fleetwood R.D. 2; and two sons: Clarence, of Kempton R.D. 2; and Nevin, of Kempton, R.D. 1. A foster son, Vernon Bailey, Bechtelsville, and 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two foster grandchildren and five brothers: John and Floyd, both of Kempton R.D. 2; Wirt and Paul, both of this place; and George, of Breinigsville R.D. 1; five sisters: Mayme, wife of Paul Anglemeyer, Allentown; Mrs. Florence Berk and Elsie, wife of Elmer Bailey, both of Kempton R.D. 2; Esther, wife of Lee Snyder, Breinigsville R.D. 1; and Lovie, wife of Homer Kunkle, Stony Run.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in New Bethel Church, the Rev. Paul H. Spohn officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Nester Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
