Stanley C. Bond, 75, of Kempton, died March 20, 2007 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Marilyn B. (Leiby) Bond. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in August of 2006.
He was born in Albany Twp., a son of the late Paul W. and Libbie G. (Hamm) Bond. Stanley was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and the companionship of his faithful dog, Custer. He also enjoyed tinkering in his wood shop.
He was a lifelong self employed farmer in Albany Twp. He also worked as a part time butcher for both Peters Brothers Meat Co. and Dietrich Meats, both of Lenhartsville. From 1985 to retiring in 1996, he was a woodworker for the Allen Organ Co., Macungie. He was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown High School.
He was a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church, Kempton, where he served as a former deacon and member of the Cemetery Association. He was very proud of the work he did for the church cemetery over the years. He was also a former Albany Twp. supervisor. He was a member of the Kempton Fire Company, the Kempton Rod and Gun Club and the Berks County Farm Bureau.
Survivors: Wife; four loving daughters, Karen L., wife of Jeffry Deutsch of Coplay, Sandra J. Wessner of Kempton, Marjorie A. wife of Irwin P. Hamm of New Tripoli, and Kay C. wife of Stephan Brendlinger of Kempton; brother, Norman P. Bond of Kutztown; three sisters, Evelyn M. Kunkel of Nazareth, Roma A. Bauscher and Erma M. Merkel, both of Lenhartsville; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion E. Lesher.
Services: Funeral Services, 11 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2007 in the New Bethel Union Church, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton. Call 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. David W. Blitch officiating. Arrangements by the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli.
