Clarence A. "Deenie" Bond, 74, of Hamburg R.3, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Florence E. (Fister) Bond. The couple observed their 51st wedding anniversary in August.
Bond was a machine operator for the Hamburg Broom Works for eight years, retiring in 1974. Before that, he operated a farm in Albany Township for 28 years and was a blacksmith in Lynn Township for five years.
Born in Albany Township, he was a son of the late Earl E. and Irene M. (Bailey) Bond.
He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton R.2.
Surviving with his widow are two sons, Lester F. of Kutztown and Richard C. of Kempton R.2; two daughters, Mrs. Jean F. Rauch of Kempton R.1 and Shirley I., wife of Donald E.A. Fotheringill of Reading; three sisters, Elda, wife of Ira Schroeder of Kempton, Mrs. Miriam Henry of Kempton R.1 and Dorothy, wife of Franklin Moyer of Fleetwood R.2; a foster brother, Vernon Bailey of Bechtelsville; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church. A calling hour will precede services in the church.
The Claude S. Nester Funeral Home, Jacksonville, is in charge of arrangements.
