Alice Elaine Peterson Bonar, 63, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Visitation will be 4-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2008, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland and 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the church, officiated by Rev. Cary Stockett and Rev. Vicki Landrum. Traveling home to West Virginia services will be held Friday, October 31, 2008, at Roush Funeral Home (304-273-2152) officiated by Rev. Joe Frum with her final resting place at Ravenswood Cemetery.
Alice was born August 31, 1945 in Wichita Falls, TX the daughter of Roy and Mary Peterson. She was a graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, TX and retired in 2001 after a 27 year career in sales and sales management with Park Davis Pharmaceutical Company (now Pfizer Pharmaceuticals). She was named the first female sales manager for the company and was the recipient of numerous sales awards.
Alice was a certified Mississippi Master Gardener. A member of Christ United Methodist Church, she loved working and traveling with her husband Jack along with sharing her love of sports by being an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Most certainly, above all, her devotion was to her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
The memory she has left us will be held close at heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Peterson; and brother, Charles Peterson.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Jackson (Jack) Wilson Bonar of Brandon, MS; mother, Mary Peterson of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter, Robin Hudson and husband, Mike of Sandyville, WVA; son, Brook Bonar of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Brandy Hudson and Benjamin Hudson both of Sandyville, WVA; brothers, Carroll Peterson and wife, Betty of Van Alstyne, TX, Gordon Peterson and wife, Tammy of Iowa Park, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
