Shirley passed away October 2, 2014 at Northwest Medical Center in St. Albans. Shirley was the widow of Walter N. Bombard. She was born March 15, 1931 in Whitehall, New York in her grandparents newly built home. She was the daughter of Walter & Jeannette Curtis Stark (later Jeanette Watts). She was brought up by her mother and stepfather Francis P. “Buster” Watts.

She was an avid quilter. For many years, she belonged to Champlain Country Club where she loved playing golf. She had been a member of the Franklin County Quilt Guild, The Ladies of St. Anne, The VFW Auxiliary Post 758, and The D.A.V. Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son Wayne Bombard and his wife France of St. Albans, her son John Bombard and his wife Manjula of Starksboro. She was predeceased by her daughter Jill Ann Thoren. She also leaves her grandchildren Sarah Bombard-Smoot of Pleasanton, California, Katie Bombard-Adams & her husband Will Adams of San Jose, California, Kimberly Thoren of Burlington, Matthew Thoren & his wife Reiko of Tokyo, Japan, Benjamin Bombard and his wife Jessica of Highgate. and her fiance Ian McKenzie of Fletcher, and Samuel Bombard of Johnson. She leaves six greatgrandchildren Nicole Bombard-Smoot of Tempe, Arizona, Samuel Adams of San Jose, California, Carolina Liberty Adams of San Jose, California, Natalie McKenzie of Fletcher, Wyatt Bombard of Highgate, and Yuma Thoren of Tokyo, Japan.
Shirley was also predeceased by her sister Jean Guido in 2003 and her brother Howard Watts in 2011. She also leaves special friends, Dorothy Dussault and Lucille Pelkey. She will be missed by all of her wonderful friends of Cardinal Circle who loved to gather around her on 'The Porch' and by her granddog Tooter who loved to visit her every day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM, in Holy Angels Church. The family will receive condolences Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time to process to church. Interment will follow in the Bombard family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
