Louise Hubbard Bolton of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Barren Springs, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, just short of celebrating her 70th birthday. Funeral service was held Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at Glenwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Wyke officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She was a retired nurse having worked 35 years in South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Bolton; and her parents, Hillman "Bill" and O'Donna Hubbard. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Hubbard Brooks of Tybee Island, Ga., Anthony L. and Jennifer Bolton of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jannie and Ronald Smythers, Priscilla and Howard Spencer, all of Barren Springs; and special daughter Robin Shakir and granddaughter Najla Shakir, several nieces and nephews. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville was in charge of the arrangements.
