Edwin Earl Bolling, 90, of Pensacola died Tuesady February 24, 2009.
Mr. Bolling was born December 22, 1918 in Brooklyn, Alabama, to Willie Cleveland Bolling and Frankie Johnston Bolling. He was married for 67 years to Elvia Mae Campbell Bolling.
During World War II Mr. Bolling served in the United States Army Air Force from March 1942 to June 1945. He was a ball turret gunner aboard B24s as a member of the 8th Air Force in Europe.
Following the Great War Mr. Bolling was trained as an electrician, and for the next nine years he and his family traveled between Lake Michigan and the Gulf Coast working on large construction projects of the era. In 1954 the family settled in Pensacola where Mr. Bolling worked at St. Regis Paper Company until his retirement in 1981.
Mr. Bolling was a member of the Scenic Hills Church of Christ.
Mr. Bolling was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Dockman, his parents, an infant, and sisters Estelle Martin and Faye Knowles.
Mr. Bolling is survived by his wife, sons Robert (wife Lois) of Decatur, Alabama, and Mark of Idaho Falls, Idaho, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday February 26, 2009 from 10:00 am until services at 11:00 am at Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home with Minister Kelly Wheeler officiating. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
