Orin Fred Bolling, 83, of Everson, Wash., formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday in Everson.
He was born June 26, 1910, in Chicago, the son of Gustaf A. and Ida Johansson Bolling. He married Evelyn Beattie in Springfield in 1940; she died in 1989. Mr. Bolling was employed for many years as an engineer for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon of Faith Lutheran Church and past president of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a member of the Springfield Rowing Club and helped establish a boys rowing team for the local colleges. He later moved to Whatcom County in Washington in July 1990. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Tamminga of Everson, Wash., Donna Funicello of Tiburon, Calif., and Glenna Kindy of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Ruthe Bolling of Phoenix, Ariz., and Martha H. Carlson of Moline; and a brother, John G. Bolling of New Smyrna, Fla.
Services: Faith Lutheran Church, the Rev. Glenn VanderKloot officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
