Mona Lee Austin, 63, of Raymond, passed away on Jan. 11, 2007, at the Capital Medical Center in Olympia after a long 22 year battle with cancer.

Mona was born on May 2, 1943, to Clarence and Polly (Pocholec) Bolling in Durham, Ky. She came to Washington at the age of eight and lived in the Raymond are for 55 years. Mona Lee Bolling married Marland "Jim" Austin on June 1, 1960, in Aberdeen.

Along with her husband of 46 and 1/2 years, Mona is survived by daughter, Peggy (Pat) of Raymond; sons, Greg (Jackie) of Cosmopolis, Darrell (Reva) of Colorado, and Jeff (Tracy) of Raymond.

Besides being a devoted mother and wife, she was a very loving grandmother to Jon, Chad, Joey, Chris, Mindee, Jeff Jr., Sonja, Marley, and Jacie; one great-grandchild, Jordan; her mother, Polly Meadows of Raymond; along with her mother, Mona is survived by her mother-in-law, Ethel Austin; a brother, Doug (Judy) Bolling of Oregon; sisters, Nona (Joe) White of Oklahoma and Cora (Bob) Dobson of West Virginia; a brother, Larry Meadows of Seattle; aunt, Jessie Loomis of Raymond; and special cousins, Flo Branham of Aberdeen and Geri Branham of Idaho. She had a very special relationship with her brother-in-laws, "The Austin Boys" Ron of Tacoma, Larry and Ray both of Raymond.

Mona was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; a brother, Roy Bolling; and step-father, Sam Meadows; and his children, Sam Jr., and Nancy Norman.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo.
