Albert Bolivar 1933 Bridgewater Bulletin

Publication date: August 29, 1933.

Many friends and relatives gathered at the home of the late Albert Bolivar, Dayspring, to pay their last respects to a fellow citizen, whose very tragic death saddened not only the small community in which he lived, but the whole of Lunenburg County.

The funeral which took place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, was conducted by Rev. Mullins, minister in charge of the Baptist Church at Dayspring. The choir of the same church rendered music and hymmns very appropriate for the occasion.

The late Mr. Bolivar was predeceased six years ago by his wife and his aged mother, who lived to the ripe old age of 95 years. Of a family of ten children, nine are still living. The oldest son, Carleton, lost his life in the Great War. The living children are Mrs. George Coombs, Chester; Mrs. Melborne Hiltz, Bridgewater; Mrs. Margaret Hirtle, Dayspring; Mrs. George Kaulback, Conquerall Mills; Tom and Herbert of the United States; Mrs. Arthur L. Harrison of Halifax; and Walter and Ruth, at home; also a number of grandchildren.

The deceased was 68 years of age and lived all his life at Dayspring. He was known as a good father, friend, and citizen, and his death comes as a distinct loss to both his family and friends.

The large funeral attendance and the many floral offerings testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held.

With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
