Anna Jane (White) Bolinger, 85, of Big Pine Key, Fla., formerly of Maysville, Armstrong County, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, in Meadville.

Born Feb. 12, 1928, in Maysville, she was a daughter of the late Carl A. "Pete" and Nina (Strawn) White.

Jane was a graduate of Elders Ridge High School and Slippery Rock State University

She taught health and phys ed and coached the girl's basketball team at Elders Ridge High School.

She then taught at Apollo-Ridge High, where the students knew her as Mrs. B, and retired in 1986.

After her retirement, Jane was a "snowbird" and would spend eight months in Florida and the summer months at Pymatuning Lake.

She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star in Saltsburg and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Avonmore.

Until her death, Jane continued to be very active, enjoying golf, tennis, fishing, and especially spending time with her family and many friends.

Jane will be remembered as a kind, very active fun-loving person.

Everyone who knew her loved to be around her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Bolinger, in 1992; a son, Brian Bolinger, in 2009; and two brothers, James "Jim" and Hazen White.

Survivors include her son, William "Fred" (Suzanne) Bolinger, of Louisville, Ky.; four granddaughters, Melissa, Emily, Marissa, and Billie; her sister, Dorothy Egley, of Edmon; sisters-in-law, Irene (Clawson) White Criswell and Billie (Tressler) White; longtime companion, John "Bud" Voorhees, of Florida; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Terri Swails officiating.

Burial will be private.
