Andrea Beth Bacon Boles of North Topsail Beach, NC, formerly of Danville, passed away Tuesday morning, May 11, 2010, at Duke University Medical Center, surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Beth was born in Roanoke, Va., November 20, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Col. Layton Percy Bacon and the late Evelyn Virginia Bacon of Danville. She was the granddaughter of the late Albert Sidney Bacon and Bertie Lanier Bacon of Pembroke, Ga. She was a 1970 graduate of George Washington High School and attended Brenau College, Gainesville, Georgia. She was married to her husband, Julius Mauvison Boles on December 6, 1975.

She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Danville, a member of the Dan River Emmaus Community where she walked on Dan River #12 "Go Light Your World". She was a former member of Dan Pitts and then Victorian Danville ABWA. She and her husband were franchisees of Kentucky Fried Chicken, South Boston, VA from 1976 to 1998. They also formerly owned the Panda Den and currently own Designing Women Co.

In addition to her husband, Beth is survived by a son, Brian Shaffer Boles, Danville, two daughters, Lanier Boles Mayberry and husband Mike of Dry Fork, and Juli Evelyn Odell and husband, CJ of Sanford, NC, and a stepson, Mark Boles of Cascade, a sister, Bonny Bacon Shelton and husband Bill of Danville, four grandsons, Christopher Allen Boles, Matthew Brian Boles, Layton Jackson Boles and Thomas Shaffer Boles, and one granddaughter, Caroline Andrea Boles, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Beth was predeceased by a brother, Layton Percy (Buddy) Bacon, Jr. and one sister, Phyllis W. Smith and a Godchild, Lara Lisbet Phillips.

Services will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church on Friday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by the Reverend Thomas Barnard, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at Fairview United Methodist Church on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of her sister and brother-in-law at 6271 Riverside Drive.
