Addie J. Bolen, 106, of Craig Drive, departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at St. Luke Assisted Care Residence in Waynesboro, Virginia.
She was born on April 23, 1903, in Rockbridge County, Virginia, to the late James and Mary (Moore) Jackson.
She was a member of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis J. Bolen; two daughters, Jean Holder and Doris Levels; and two grandchildren.
Addie is survived by two daughters, Helen Becks and her husband, James, and Margaret Bonds and her husband, Spencer; one son, Lewis "Vernon" Bolen and his wife, Brenda; one son-in-law, Van Holder; 16 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; a special devoted friend, Harry Holtz.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010, at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 4 untiil 6 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010, and the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
