He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and later, united with Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church #2 and then with St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed more than 40 years of service at GAF Roofing Company and retired in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Earnestine McVay Bolden (of 50 plus years) and his daughter, Clara L. Bolden Tate.
He is survived by one son; Charles E. Bolden (Diane) of Aurora, Colorado; four grand daughters, Marva L. Bolden (Aurora, Co.), Phyllis Tate (caregiver), Cathy Tate Daniels (Mobile, AL), Pamela D. Tate (Atlanta, GA); one grandson, Charles R. Bolden (deceased); two great grandsons, David J. Daniels, IV and Charles H. Daniels; a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 2846 St. James Dr. Mobile, AL.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
