Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Sunday March 29th from 5:00-7:00 in the evening. Graveside service will be held Monday March 30th at Fairview Cemetery in Midland at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tony Conner officiating under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.
Tommy was born January 22, 1940 in Lafayette, LA, only son of Truman & Floella Boiles. As son of a carpenter, he spent his childhood traveling from place to place -- to wherever work was found.
He joined the army at age 17 and was stationed in Germany. He returned to the states in 1960 where he met Scharlott Henley. They married December 1, 1960 and settled in Midland to raise their family.
Tommy started out as an appliance repairman with Sears & Roebuck, was a warehouse supervisor for Texas Plastic Industries, and spent his later life self-employed in appliance repair.
Our dad especially loved watching his son, Junior, drag race in the West Texas area. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR, and was his grandchildren's biggest fan, supporting them in whatever activity they chose to participate. As often as possible throughout his life, he delighted in spending time with his brother (cousin) James Boiles terrorizing all unsuspecting victims with relentless practical jokes and recounting the antics with great joy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Scharlott, one son, Junior Boiles and his wife Tommie, two daughters, Shani Legendre and her husband Terry, and Shana Hull, all of Midland; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Honorary pall-bearers are James Boiles of Crowley, RL Boiles of Sweetwater, Troy Boiles of San Angelo, Glenn Sanders of Midland, Malcolm Boiles of Ft Worth, and Dennis Boiles of Azle.
