God has taken a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend. James Robert Boice, 25, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009. He died doing what he loved best — hunting.
James was born in Vinita, Okla., on Sept. 24, 1984. He moved to Deer Lodge with his parents, John and Edmae (Rahn) Berryman. He graduated from the Montana Youth Challenge Academy in Dillon and came back to Deer Lodge to be with his family.
James was very adventurous. He liked hunting, fishing, working on cars and snowmobiling, and he loved working side-by-side with his father, John. He loved being with his family every chance he got, especially with his niece, Katie Bug.
James was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Boice and Jackie Lee Berryman; cousin, Joey Berryman; uncle, Robert Boice; and beloved friend, Cory Ring.
He is survived by his parents, John and Edmae Berryman; sister and brother-in-law, Misty and Doug Johnson and niece, Katie Johnson, all of Deer Lodge; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Boice of Butte, and nephew Nathan of Anaconda; brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Brenda Berryman and nephews John and Jonas of Miami, Okla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and many friends.
He was a much-loved young man and will be greatly missed. We love you.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Jewell Funeral Home.
