Mr. Bohrer was born July 17, 1832, in Pirmasens, Germany, a son of George and Katherine Bohrer. He was one of a family of four brothers and three sisters and was the last to die. He married Nancy Artist Mar. 25, 1875, in McLean County. They had one child, David, who died in infancy. Mrs. Bohrer preceded her husband in death on Nov. 6, 1913.
When a child he came to this country with his parents, locating at Russellville, Ohio. In 1856, he came to Bloomington, Illinois, locating on a farm west of the city. In later life he retired from active work on the farm and lived on East Locust Street. He and his wife had moved to Long Beach about 12 years ago.
