BOHNSACK, Alice J. - Age 87, of Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville, PA, formerly of Mohnton, PA and Columbiaville, MI, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, in Reading Hospital.
She was the widow of Joseph Bohnsack who died November 22, 2002. They were married June 29, 1941.
Born in Clinton, IL on December 6, 1923, she was the daughter of John W. and Fleeta (Edwards) Scott.
She worked as an LPN and RN at Lapeer County General Hospital, Lapeer MI. In earlier years, she was a farmer and homemaker.
In retirement she wrote a Bohnsack family genealogy book. She was an active member of Oregon United Methodist Church and Davison United Methodist Church.
After moving to Pennsylvania in 1995, she was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton.
She is survived by her four children: Carol, wife of James H. Adams, Mohnton; Benjamin, husband of Marcia, Marquette, MI; Joseph Paul, Waxahachie, Texas; and Anita Gray, Reading. There are also nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Beth Sanford, Davison, MI, and a brother, Harvey (Doris) Scott, Vassar, MI. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Phoebe Berks Village Chapel, Wernersville, PA. A graveside service will be held later at Oregon Township Cemetery, Columbiaville, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W. Wyomissing Ave., Mohnton, PA 19540. Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home of Mohnton is in charge of arrangements.
