SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Wilhelmenia Bogan Adams, age 85, widow of Ralph W. Adams, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg. Mrs. Adams was a nine year resident of White Oak Estates and was formerly of Harwood Heights, Union, SC.
Mrs. Adams was born in Union County, SC, July 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Caswell Pell Bogan and Inez Lawson Bogan. She was a graduate of Union High School and owned and operated her own beauty shop in Union for many years. Mrs. Adams was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, former member of the WMU and was formerly active with many youth programs. Mrs. Adams was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Adams was predeceased by a sister, Martha Sanders; two brothers, William "Bill" Bogan and C.P. Bogan, Jr; and a grandson, Kevin Adams.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 26, 2010, at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Eddie Saxon and Rev. Bill Adams, and Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
