She attened high school in Paynesville, Minn., then attened Normal School in St. Cloud and Bemidji, Minn. To obtain her Bachelor of Education degree, she attended the University of Montana. Following graduation, her teaching career started in Sibley County Country School in Cass Lake Minn., before moving to Billings in 1928. As a member of the Audubon Society, she started a junior club, and as a result many of her students became interested in birds. She participated yearly in the winter bird count.

As an active member of the Methodist Church, Marguerite taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was charter member of the guild. She was very interested in the welfare of her nieces, nephews and their children, sending them many gifts and instilling in them the desire to read.

Survivors include a sister, Viola Budke, of Dayton, Wash.; one brother, Ralph Boerner, of Ventura, Calif,; twelve nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and nephews. Her parents and brothers, Harold and Clifford preceded her in death.
