ADELA MARY "DELLA" (LECHNER) BOERNER (7 May 1903-2 June 1962) St. Benedicts
BOERNER SERVICES WILL BE TUESDAY-Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church for Mrs. Fred Boerner who died Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home after having been in failing health for 18 months.
Father John Kosiac, CPPS will officiate at the services and burial will be at St. Benedict's cemetery Pallbearers: Henry Stoewe, Herman Specht, Leonard Behrens, Arthur Sweet, Lee Jessup and Anton Sasse.
Adela Mary Boerner was born near Nebraska City May 7, 1903, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lechner. She was married May 16, 1922 to Fred Boerner, who for many years has been superintendent of the plant of The Press Printing Co. Mr. and Mrs. Boerner lived at 610 North Tenth street.
Mrs. Boerner, who spent her entire life in the community, was a member of St. Bendict's Catholic church where she was a member of the senior choir, the Christian Mothers and Altar Society and the Apostleship of Prayer. She attended the old St. Benedict's grade school and District 56.
Mrs. Boerner was employed at the Witt drug store and Jessup's drug store.
Surviving are her husband, Fred; two sons, Ralph, Nebraska City; and Lt. Delbert Boerner, US Navy, stationed in Oslo, Norway; and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Mary Lechner, Nebraska City; and brothers and sisters; Robert and Carl Lechner, Nebraska City; Otto, Dunbar; Mrs. Leona Korring, city; Mrs Minnie Schmitz, Paul; and Fredolin, City; a brother, Leo, preceded his sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boerner of St. Joseph, Mo., are expected here for the funeral.
The Apostleship of Prayer Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. The Christian Mothers will form an honorary guard at the church.
The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Gude mortuary, which is in charge of the services.
