Archie G. Boeding, 75, West Point, died Friday evening, Jan. 25, 2002, at Fort Madison Community Hospital after being stricken at his home.

He was born July 2, 1926, at West Point, the son of Edward H. and Irene Strothman Boeding. He married Betty L. Willard, Jan. 17, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Madison. She survives.

He was a life long resident of West Point. He owned and operated Archies Super Service in West Point for over 42 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, West Point. He was a long time contributor to the American Legion Projects of West Point and was chairman of the West Point pancake supper for 17 years. He was a former member of the West Point Fire Department and was a Prairie Hunters Club member.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Boeding (wife Bev), Fort Madison and Marvin Boeding (wife Mary), West Point; three daughters, Nancy Panther (husband Tony), West Point, Monica Schulte (husband Bill), Fort Madison and Mary Lou Menke, (husband Ed), West Point; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Willie Boeding, West Point, Harry Boeding, St. Paul and Richard Boeding, West Point; and two sisters, Darlene Umthum, Fort Madison and Rosemary Glasgow, West Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, at Link Funeral Home, West Point, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Point, with Rev. David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Point.

Memorials may be made to Marquette Schools or the West Point Fire and Rescue.
