August S. Bodeen was born in Sweden, February 11, 1856, thus being 49 years old. He came to Sycamore about 35 years ago and has always made his home here. He was a well known carpenter.
Mr. Bodeen was married to Miss Anna Johnson, in 1880, in Sycamore. Mrs. Bodeen was also born in Sweden. To this union nine children have been born, all of whom are living except one, Oscar, who died when but a year old. The living children are: Charles, William, Arthur, Edward, Olga, George, Adolph and Olive, none of whom are married.
While Mr. Bodeen has not been in good health for some time he has been able to be around town. Eczema and heart trouble were the causes of his death.
The funeral was held at the house on North Locust street at 1:30 Tuesday. Rev. Frykman officiated. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery.
