PIONEER WOMAN SUCCUMBS AT 93
HARTLINE, Wash., May 5. - Mrs. Matilda Bockemuehl, 93, a resident of eastern Washington for more than 60 years, died today after an illness of about a week. She was born in Litchfield, Ill., moving to old Fort Spokane about 1880 with her husband and family. Later they homesteaded near Hartline. Her husband, Max, died in 1908 and she operated the homestead with the help of her sons from that time until she became ill. Mrs. Bockemuehl is survived by four sons, Max and Joseph, at home; Albert and William of Deer Park; a daughter, Elizabeth, at homer a sister, Elizabeth Hueter, Litchfield, ill., and 10 grandchildren. She was a member of St Patrick's Catholic church.
