NEW ALBANY - Alma Louise McNeely Boatner, 87, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Union County Health and Rehab. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Stratford Furniture Company. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, the Senior Hilltoppers Choir, the Sanctuary Choir and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. Kermit McGregor officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Arliss Boatner (Judy) of New Albany and Barry Boatner (Pat) of Lancaster, Pa.; four grandchildren, Margo Sanderson (Ron) and Shannon Stephens (Michael), all of Ripley, Bo Boatner (Denise) of New Albany and Kimberleigh Boatner of Lancaster, Pa.; five great-grandchildren, Lee Sanderson, Joshua Sanderson, Anna Kathyrn Fitts, Jamey Larson and Steven Larson, all of Ripley; a special brother-in-law, Leland Whitehorn of Myrtle; and two special sisters-in-law, Rudell Murry of New Albany and Mary Boatner of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin McNeely and Vera Churchill McNeely; her husband, George Boatner; and one sister and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Jason Blackburn, Mark Garrett, Bradley Littlejohn, Chris Rowan ,Tim Swann and Randy White. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class.
