Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday,
Oct. 4 at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at
the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt.
Maria Cemetery, Hillsdale. Memorials may
be made to Fairfield United Methodist
Church, or the EH Spencer Foundation.
Robert H. Boardman was born Jan. 21, 1923,
to Albert M. and Sarah "Sadie" (Corrin)
Boardman on their rural Port Byron farm.
He graduated from Cordova High School and
remained home to farm. He later worked
for Moormans Feed near Tampico as a feed
salesman. Robert was a member of Fairfield
United Methodist Church, Port Byron, and
the Farm Bureau. He was an avid reader
and was a positive influence on his nieces
and nephews in that manner. Robert also
loved to raise flowers and enjoyed taking
fresh flowers and dried arrangements to
area nursing homes to share with their
residents.
Survivors include his nephew, Al and wife
Rita Boardman, Hillsdale; great nieces
and nephews, Richard (Jill) Boardman,
Denver, Colo., Brenda Boardman, Austin,
Texas, Ron Boardman, Sterling, and Abby
Boardman, Hillsdale; local cousins,
Janice Wainwright, Isabel Riewerts,
Chuck (Ruth) Boardman, Wallace (JoAnn)
Corrin, Barbara Corrin, and Esther Corrin,
of Neola, Iowa. He was preceded in death
by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard
and Eloise Boardman.
