IRVINGTON KENTUCKY HERALD OBITUARY – 1944
Mrs. D.W. (Doc) Board, age 66 years died suddenly at her home here Wednesday, October 4 [1944] at 12 o'clock noon. She was washing and suffered a stroke of paralysis at 11:30 a.m. and lived only a half an hour. Cora Belle Tucker was born in Grayson County April 13, 1878, was the daughter of the late Rodas & Luisa Lewis Tucker. She professed faith in Christ in early life and united with the Custer Methodist Church, later moving her membership to the Irvington Methodist Church where she remained a devoted member. Mrs. Board was a good woman, a kind wife and loving mother. She is survived by her devoted husband and 5 children: Homer Board, of Corners; Mrs. Brown Lucas, of Big Spring; Mrs. Robert Smith, Louisville; Mrs. Lottie Ridgeway, of California; Mrs. Buddy Wheeler, of Louisville; 1 brother, Wilbur Tucker, of Rosetta; 2 sisters, Mrs. Americus Smith and Mrs. Owen Haynes, of Louisville. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Irving Owen. Pallbearers will be J.L. Trent, J.J. Stith, P.L. Kasey, L.L. Trent, D.C. Mitcham and Fulton Wilson. J.D. Ashcraft is the funeral director in charge.
