SERVICES: A service was Jan. 18 at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Metairie, with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park, Opelousas. Arrangements were by Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas.
Gina Boagni Bacon
(December 17, 1957 - January 15, 2007)
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany for Gina Bacon, age 49, the former Gina Boagni, who passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007 at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Pete Smith, pastor of Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Bacon was a native of Opelousas. She previously resided in Jensen Beach/Port St. Lucie, Florida for 20 years. She is a graduate of the Academy of Sacred Heart in 1974 and also attended U.S.L. Mrs. Bacon was previously employed with QVC as a Payroll Supervisor for 8 years.
Survivors include her father, J. Paul Boagni Jr. of Opelousas; her husband Charles Michael Bacon of Opelousas; two daughters, Rachael Gremillion Soileau and her husband Seth of Opelousas, and Jessica Guillory Gioe and her husband Shawn of Mandeville; a step-son, Jamie Ryan Bacon of Mobile, AL; five grandchildren, Spencer Lawrence Gremillion, Paige Leigh Taylor, David Lee Taylor Jr., Nicholas Blair Taylor, and Caiden Paul Gioe; one sister, Belen Boagni Cross of Mandeville; a cousin, Michelle Perkins; and a niece, Jennifer Cross.
She was preceded in death by her mother Martha Claire Messer Boagni; maternal grandparents, Bill Messer and Lyla Spurlock Messer; paternal grandparents, J. Paul Boagni, Sr. and Francis King Boagni; an aunt, Doris Boagni Perkins; and a special aunt, Willie "Bill" King.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany 1103 S. Union St. Opelousas and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Seth Soileau, Shawn Gioe, Benjamin Aucoin, Micky Readenour, Grif McKowen and Robert Messer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Spencer Gremillion, Ken Messer, Johnny McKowen, and Jamie Ryan Bacon.
