Delmas C. Blunk of Imperial, Mo., who spent his boyhood in Martinsville and who was the father of the Rev. Henry a Blunk, pastor of the Presbyterian Church here, died Saturday evening in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.
His death at the age of 53 followed several years of failing Health. He became seriously ill after a trip to Martinsville in the summer of 1959, and, because of his health, retired from business early this year.
The son of H. A. Blunk, former Martinsville city and Morgan County engineer, and Nora Finchum Blunk, he was born in Martinsvile Aug. 6, 1907. He was graduated from Martinsvile High School in 1925 and from Washington University in St. Louis. He had been associated with the Shell Oil Co. before his retirement, and belonged to the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Nadine Blunk; two sons and a daughter, the Rev. Mr Blunk of Martinsville, Delmas Blunk Il. and Mrs. Hannah Evens of St Louis, and a sister, Mrs Dee Sumpter of Crete, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock today in the Heritage Funeral Home at Imperial. The body will be brought to Martinsville where friends may call at the Cure and Hensley Funeral Home after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. The Rev. J. D. MacDonald will conduct graveside rites at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Hall.
